CLIPS & RAZORS BARBERSHOP

The Vision

Naz is a new barbershop owner who needed lots of help! He was looking for someone to establish brand messaging and to build an entire website from scratch. 

After our initial meeting, he handed me the metaphorical reins and said, “have fun!”

Yikes? But, also, yay! 

After our initial consultation and follow-up conversations, the vision was to create a brand that conveyed convenience, familiarity, and approachability, while simultaneously giving the impression of a long-established business. Barbering is such an intimate service and it was priority numero uno to make everything about his brand inviting. 

The Strategy

In our kick-off meeting, we decided that his brand would be timeless, professional, effortless, and unpretentious. Clients need to feel like they are about to be immersed in a luxury experience, without the cost. 

When a client walks into his shop, they’re greeted by an array of vintage and modern sports memorabilia, comfortable jade barber chairs, retro and contemporary art, and other cool features. His copy had to be consistent with the warm and inviting vibe of the shop.

One of the deliverables was a tagline that complimented and played off of the “sharp” imagery in the business’s name (and the trade’s tools of scissors and straight-razors). Keeping You Sharp signifies the barbershop’s ongoing relationship with their clients and promises to deliver consistent excellence with each service. 

The largest deliverable was the website, which includes a Homepage, About page, a detailed, organized, and easy-to-follow Services page, and a quirky Contact page. The About page outlines how the barbershop intends to serve its community with affordable, quality haircuts and shaves, and a brief bio about one of its owners, Naz, and his personable journey story into barbering. 

I structured each page to ensure that the user experience is intuitive, with the ultimate goal of growing his conversion rate. Each page also contains an inviting call-to-action button to Services where clients can book an appointment. Behind-the-scenes, I’ve included SEO keywords to drive new, local clients to the website when they search for barbershops in the North Hollywood area.

The Results

Naz reports great reviews! His new and old clients state that they’re able to easily navigate and book appointments through the features on his site. When he asks some new clients how they found him, they said through a Google search. Based on the growing Google reviews, clients not only love the services, but the overall carefully crafted brand. 

FUN FACT: Besides the copy, I also custom designed the Clips & Razors website layout using Squarespace! This is not a sponsored ad. I just love making stuff.

Yoga Peace Love Studio

The Vision

Christine, the owner of YPL Studio, came to me with an existing website that needed a copy overhaul. She was growing her business to cater to three different markets, so it was imperative that the copy be cohesive across all pages, with each section remaining distinct enough to highlight the unique benefits of each service.

The vision was to create continuity, clarity, and balance.

The Strategy

In our kick-off meeting over delicious tea and cookies, I asked Christine to list some words that she feels best represent the vibe of her business.

She wanted her customers to get the impression that her business is practical in its approach, whole-hearted, loving, guiding, and intuitive.  With these descriptors in mind, we identified sections to revamp and those that needed to be completely rewritten.

We also restructured each page to improve the user experience to be more intuitive and to grow her conversion rate.

Each page now contains an inviting call-to-action button to her Offerings where clients can purchase class packages or tickets to upcoming retreats. 

The other two major deliverables were adding a welcoming and informative Homepage, and a blog to showcase Christine’s personality and experience. 

The Results

Christine reports glowing reviews! Her clients, new and loyal, say they love the new layout and are able to easily navigate the features on her site. Since working together, Christine tells me she has more traffic coming to her website and that she’s already booked a few new clients for her weekly classes.
